Auswide Bank is a Queensland based Australian bank, where we value our people and most of all, our customers.  Our vision is to be a leader in banking in our communities.  As a Supervisor within Loan Origination Services your ultimate responsibility is to provide support to the Head of Loan Origination Services and the Support Services team. To lead a team within Loan Origination Services, provide superior service and support to all internal and external customers. Provide customer oriented liaison between the Bank, Sales Channel, Brokers and other 3rd party providers whilst providing the necessary support and guidance for mortgage and Business applications from end to end for Auswide Bank.

Day to day your role will include but not limited to:

  • Supporting the Head of Loan Origination Services and following the strategic direction of the bank

  • Lead and manage a team within Loan Origination Services

  • Develop, drive and maintain excellent relationships with colleagues in Support Services, Head Office departments, sales channels and Auswide Bank’s customers

  • Key contact for third party relationships, MSA , Broker Network

  • Provide leadership to all Loan Origination Services staff and greater Support Services team

  • Effectively and efficiently manage team's daily workflow of operational activities and performance of your team

  • Provide training and performance management within your team.

  • Manage teams leave and performance reviews using Connx

  • Answer complex analysis questions and solve general LOS related activity based problems without guidance from management

  • Responding to Lender and Broker enquiries providing world class customer service.

  • Rework applications with Credit that requires new structuring and liaise with Broker or Lender to meet desired outcome.

  • Hands on from a managerial aspect with your team but you will also be expected to be able to assist with an overflow of work, which will include day to day operational responsibilities such as processing of applications, uploading and verification of documentation and interaction with custodians and brokers.

  • If required to complete preliminary and final assessment involving income, employment verification, credit checks, valuations and submissions to AWB Credit Department and to Lenders Mortgage Insurance (LMI) whilst adhering to the Banks Credit Policy.

  • Keeping up to date with product knowledge, legislation and department processes.

  • Manage own and file work flow under your management (assigned)


Essential Skills:

  • People leadership experience with a strong customer service focus.

  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills with the ability to adapt to change and be highly motivated.  Ability to de-escalate conflict effectively.

  • Complex Mortgage Lending experience required. 

  • Business banking experience desired.
  • Ability to gain knowledge of core banking systems, Ultracs and LendFast
  • Ability to gain knowledge of the Banks credit policy procedures and policy for Consumer Mortgage Lending
  • Strong Microsoft Office Skills in particular Excel
