The Role available:

Reporting to the Chief People & Property Officer, the successful applicant will be required to lead, analyse and maintain the learning and development requirements to meet the bank's objectives and its regulatory and legislative obligations. In this role the candidate is required to provide support on Payroll and a range of HR management related policies, procedures and systems consistent with the Banks strategic plans and Values.

What we are looking for:

A consummate banking professional with previous leadership experience in Human Resource management, Learning & Development and Credit / Lending / Sales Experience. This is a challenging leadership role for a hands-on people focused professional.

Your Key Responsibilities will be:

Human Resource Function

  • Provide advice on Human Resource management issues to staff and the executive team.
  • Maintain payroll and human resource systems (Sage Micropay / ConnX) to ensure compliance with all employment regulatory and legislative requirements.
  • Provide pro-active advice on best-practice HR across a variety of issues including workplace legislation, policy, performance, remuneration and workforce planning and FTE budgetary management.   
  • Lead on recruitment practices to attract, onboard, manage probationary periods and retain bank-fit employees.
  • Continued improvement in staff recognition and compensation plans including bonuses, wage proposals and salary review recommendations.
  • Driving consistency, professionalism and alignment amongst HR activities and initiatives. 

Payroll

  • Ensure payroll is processed accurately in line with all legislative, awards and Fair Work requirements.
  • Ensure Monthly reports/journals and statutory returns (Payroll Tax, PAYG, Superannuation, Workers Compensation etc.) are completed in a timely manner.

Performance Management

  • Support and drive a performance to outcome culture.
  • Manage the performance review process and disciplinary process.
  • Review and seek improvements on the existing performance appraisal systems and succession planning framework.
  • Provide support to leaders of the Bank in the conduct of performance management and disciplinary processes.

Capability & Learning and Development

  • Ensure appropriate learning and development activities are undertaken consistent with the Bank's strategies, policies and procedures.
  • Ensure that development programs are prioritised in response to defined needs and objectives and within each Business Units budgets.
  • Identify, in collaboration with leaders, the training and development requirements of the Bank.
  • Coordinate compulsory regulatory and legislative compliance training to provide appropriate training programs tailored for its requirements.
  • Maintain and build relationships with external training and educational institutions to provide and meet each employee's training requirements and plans that enhance their personal development or chosen career path.
  • Develop and set learning pathways and development plans for key roles of the Bank.
  • Maintain and improve all employee induction compliance training in line with regulatory requirements for each role.
  • Management of LMS systems and the ability to create internal training on these platforms.
  • Proven experience in the designing, developing and facilitating a broad variety of L&D Programs.
  • Advanced facilitation skills in the context of organisational learning programs, including Credit / Lending and Sales.
  • Expert knowledge of Learning and Development best practice.
  • Managing the delivery of all Learning and Development activities including, training needs analysis, training delivery, training vendor relationship management, course participation management, training logistics and/or other services.
  • Partnering with Senior Management to assess team capability and assist in developing customised learning and development programs to ensure succession planning and talent management is proactively managed with measurable results.

About You?

Demonstrate extensive experience in stakeholder management and leading learning and development teams, coupled with outstanding communication, negotiation and interpersonal skills.

Be able to demonstrate a drive for continuous improvement and a strong commercial acumen and business awareness.

The ability to evaluate and prioritise key tasks, and agility in managing multiple/conflicting deadlines.

Provide ongoing coaching and mentoring to the P&P team to maintain and build their knowledge and skills.
